'A clean sweep' in the search engines... almost!
I’m usually too busy to check on the search engine rankings for this site. The last time was back in July when I was ranking #1 or #2 for searches for ‘luxury travel blog’ on all the major search engines except Google. Now A Luxury Travel Blog holds #1 rankings on all those search engines,
Interviews on A Luxury Travel Blog
One of the new features I plan for A Luxury Travel Blog in 2007 is an ongoing series of informal ‘interviews’ with people within the industry. They’ll take the form of a handful of questions (the same in each interview) and I’m just trying to finalise what questions to ask. So far, I

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year! What are your travel plans for 2007? And have you made any travel-related New Year’s resolutions? Perhaps I can suggest one… I’d like to encourage more discussions on the individual blog posts here. I’m sure we all have a wealth of information we
One year old today!
A year ago today, I did my first post on A Luxury Travel Blog. At that point in time, I couldn’t have imagined how popular things would become in such a short space of time. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of you – my readers – for visiting so
Merry Christmas
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all readers of A Luxury Travel Blog. Wherever in the world you happen to be spending today, I wish you a very Merry (and luxurious!) Christmas. Now then… get away from the computer and enjoy the festive celebrations…

Aardvark Map
Some of you might be wondering why the blog entries haven’t been flowing as freely as normal recently. There’s two reasons for that. Firstly, I’ve been on a wonderful trip around Lake Geneva, staying at Evian (yes, the place of mineral water fame) on the French side of the lake, and at Lausanne on
Don't forget the RSS feeds!
We hope you’re continuing to enjoy A Luxury Travel Blog as it nears its first birthday. This post is just a gentle reminder of the existence of the blog’s RSS feeds. If you’re unfamiliar with RSS, don’t be put off… it stands for Really Simple Syndication, not that that will help you much,
Social bookmarking of A Luxury Travel Blog
By Paul Johnson on Oct 11, 2006 in A Luxury Travel Blog
Some of you may have noticed that, beneath each post title, there’s now the option to bookmark any given blog entry with the likes of del.icio.us, Digg It, Furl and Yahoo! MyWeb. There’s several others I could add, but I’d like to keep it the main ones. If you’d like to see others included, Blog of the Day Award
Oooooh….!! A Luxury Travel Blog has been voted ‘Blog of the Day’ over at the Blog of the Day Awards. Thanks, Bill…!
Trip to north-east England: a short break from blogging
By Paul Johnson on Sep 28, 2006 in A Luxury Travel Blog, Europe, Regions, Travel Miscellany, United Kingdom, Western Europe
This Sunday, I shall be in the north-east, running in the Great North Run – the world’s largest half marathon – which covers 13.1 miles from Newcastle-upon-Tyne to the coast at South Shields. I shall be raising funds for the British Heart Foundation. If you’d like to sponsor me, please click here. And a
Technorati Top 5
I’m pleased to let you know that, in less than 12 months, A Luxury Travel Blog has progressed to being among the ‘Top 5’ luxury blogs, according to Technorati. Bear in mind that this isn’t just blogs that are specific to luxury travel, but encompasses other aspects of the luxury sector such as celebrities, shopping
Happy Birthday to me...
It’s official. I turn 35 today so now there’s no getting away from being well and truly in my mid-thirties. On a positive note, I’m exactly one year younger that Jennifer Lopez… it doesn’t sound quite as bad when you look at it that way!
