4 days in Mykonos
Mykonos has always been a wonderful juxtaposition between traditional life and a cosmopolitan jet set lifestyle. By the 1950s the island was already among ‘the’ most fashionable destinations for celebrities from all over the world. Tale also has it that the rocks have a unique energy capable of soothing the soul and lightening the mood the minute you set foot on the island. Today, Mykonos is an island full of hidden gems; some are known and other are yet to be discovered…
Every building, every beach, every rock, has its story to tell… if you are looking to spend a few days in the island I recommend the following:
Day 1
Discover the Chora of Mykonos and walk through the white narrow alleys full of cafes, shops, ateliers and famous people. Walk through Matogiani before you end up for sunset drinks in Little Venice. Dinner in Sea Satin or Aqua, next to the water is relaxing and will get you into the mood of the island.
Day 2
An early Yoga session is the best start of the day. The islands energy due to its close proximity to Delos Island is ideal for holistic treatments and meditation. After noon, drive to the north part of the island, where the sandy beach of Kalo Livadi, Elia and Lia is cited. If you are looking for quit scenery choose Lia. If you are looking for more fashionable spot try Elia or if you are looking for more cosmopolitan the Kalo Livadi is for you. Try for a front row sunbathing chair to celebrate the crystal waters and the sun while reserve a table for a Light lunch and some cocktails at Solymar. In the way back to Chora, pass by Alemagou or Ftelia in Ftelia Bay to get a drink and a bit of warm-up dance before clubbing tonight at JackieO.
Day 3
A rib boat day to truly discover some of the best beaches in Mediterranean sea but also a bit of culture. The rib boat will transfer you first to Delos, for a short private tour of the island. Then, the rib will anchor in the nearby inhabitant island of Rhenia with the turquoise waters for a Yoga session on the beach and a private BBQ with the best ingredients the sea has to offer. The day unfolds cruising to the south beaches of Mykonos before drinking Champagne admiring the sunset and the little Venice. Disembark after sunset and head to Interni in town for a late dinner and drinks or drinks and may a late dinner.
Day 4
After a morning Yoga session and breakfast you can drive to Psarrou beach. It is your last day to rub shoulders with the rich and famous. Reserve a table for late lunch in Nammos and spend the day in style till late hours.
